Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your SwipePlay account and its associated data at any time. This page explains how to do it, and exactly what is removed.
⚠️ Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Your profile, matches, messages and game lists are removed and cannot be restored. You can create a new account later, but nothing from your old account carries over.
1. Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest method and takes effect immediately.
- Open SwipePlay and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab (bottom-right).
- Scroll down to the Account section.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted — your account and data are deleted right away.
2. Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app — for example you've lost your login details, uninstalled the app, or can't sign in — you can request deletion by email instead.
Email us from the email address registered to your SwipePlay account (this is how we verify the request is genuinely yours), using the subject line “Delete my account”.
What happens next
- We confirm we've received your request within 7 days.
- Your account and data are deleted within 30 days of verification.
- We email you to confirm once the deletion is complete.
If you email from a different address, we may ask for additional information to verify ownership — this prevents anyone from deleting someone else's account.
3. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
| Data | Details |
|---|---|
| Account | Your login credentials and email address |
| Profile | Username, bio, avatar, banner, date of birth, level & XP, and cosmetic settings |
| Messages | Your direct messages, private group messages, community chat messages and reactions |
| Matches | Your matches, likes and swipe history |
| Friends | Your friends list and any pending friend requests |
| Games | Liked games, custom game lists and activity history |
| Groups | Your group memberships, groups you created, and any group pictures you uploaded |
| Notifications | The push notification token that identifies your device, so you stop receiving alerts |
| Preferences | Blocked users and app settings stored on your device |
4. What we may keep
In limited cases we retain a minimal amount of information after deletion:
- Safety records. If you were reported for abuse, or you reported another user, we keep a record of that report so we can protect other users and enforce our rules. These records are kept separately from your profile.
- Legal and financial records. If you purchased a subscription, we keep transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Payments are processed by Google Play — we never store your payment details.
- Backups. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a short period before being overwritten on our normal backup cycle.
Anything retained is kept only as long as necessary for those purposes, and is never used to re-identify you or rebuild your profile.
5. If you have a SwipePlay+ subscription
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Google Play, not by us.
To cancel: open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → select SwipePlay → Cancel subscription. Please do this before deleting your account to avoid further charges.
